Now We're Talking
Phoebe and I are loving life! We're spending the week at Topsail Beach. Dad has to do work during the day and Mom is always checking on Hudson, so we dogs have taken it upon ourselves to make sure some of the Younger clan does some serious vacationing.
When we're not going for walks or chilling out on the deck, we're taking good solid naps. Hudson likes to join us for these...

Hi -our 7 y/o sheltie will have surgery in one week for removal of rather large tumor on parathyroid gland. Can you please tell me how long it took your dog for the parathyroid to begin functioning normal and for your dog to no longer be hypocalcemic post surgery? Would appreciate it very much.
Good luck with your dog's surgery! Holden was back to normal pretty quickly... by the time NC State discharged him, his calcium levels were within range and they stayed on the low end of normal through our follow up visits with a local vet. His docs had us test his levels every day, then every few days, then every week, while at the same time tapering him off the Tums. He had the surgery just before Thanksgiving and I want to say that by Christmas, he'd been giving a clean bill of health and was off the Tums. He's been fine ever since. Hope that helps!
